The 2016 crew was skippered by Guin Batten, a former professional rower who won an Olympic silver medal in Sydney in 2000 who also holds the record for the fastest row across the English Channel.
Molly Brown, 20 is now the youngest women to row an ocean. A born and bred sailor who competed for GB at youth level, Molly started rowing at Southampton University where she studies Oceanography.
Alex Holt (front) is an outdoor enthusiast. When the opportunity to row the North Atlantic arose she accepted without hesitation, lending her skills in sports marketing and sponsorship to help organise the logistics of the campaign.
Gilly Mara (back) one of the fastest ultra marathon kayakers in the UK and a former GB dragonboat racer. Currently working for Jaguar Landrover and occasionally visiting schools to inspire young people to get active.
Mary Sutherland is an accomplished offshore sailor and racer, with several Fastnet and Atlantic crossings under her belt. Most at home on the sea or in the mountains, Mary brought a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the crew.
The Campaign team
The campaign was managed by Charlie Pitcher, who has completed 2 solo Atlantic crossings, one in record time, and spent 15 years in international yacht racing for Great Britain.
The shore team also includes Angus Collins an experienced Ocean rower and skipper of Ocean Reunion who won the 2015 Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Race and Louise Wymer a successful rower and business woman.
